For vehicles without this type of sump pan, use the flywheel TDC setting tool. Secure the tool to the cell housing with the marker point bent in towards the flywheel ting gear. Align the TDC mark on the flywheel with pointer. On vehicles from 1998on,the injection the injection pump locking pin is required as part of the procedure. With the TDC set up, pass the locking pin through the hole in the timing pump gear and locate it. Any other use of these tools than that described in the section above is considered as misuse.
